What is the TeamMachine?

As we return to a post-pandemic workplace stressed by hybrid work, the TeamMachine offers an engaging way for employees to reconnect with purpose and an opportunity to establish new norms of inclusion.

The TeamMachine is a simulation exercise that actively fosters cooperation, communication and teamwork across silos in the workplace. This exercise directly addresses the real problem of fostering connection among employees who have not worked face-to-face for many months, or in some cases, have never even met!

The TeamMachine is a shortcut to building trust in our increasingly diverse global marketplace. It provides a practical roadmap for all employees to reframe the organizational goals, engage in self-reflection and begin a WE-building action plan to establish new norms of inclusion across departmental differences and silos, or differences in identity including language, nationality, race, ethnicity, age, gender, gender-orientation and many other factors.

In 2 hours, participants will gain insight into individual and group behaviors that work well and, most importantly, will recognize behaviors that must be adjusted in order for the organization to achieve better communication, strong relationships and effective teamwork. Participants are on their feet thinking, communicating and problem-solving from beginning to end. 

The TeamMachine strongly emphasizes communication and teamwork across silos.

The most important outcome that results from participation in the TeamMachine exercise is a clear understanding that people from different backgrounds or from other departments within the same organization are allies, not competitors. The TeamMachine helps participants quickly and clearly understand that making a deliberate effort to cooperate and communicate successfully with others within their organization is a business imperative for success in the 21st century marketplace.
